From the President – May, 2016
Thank you for visiting our new website published in May, 2016.
Triway celebrated her 23rd birthday this year. Over the past 23 years, the exchanges and cooperation between the United States and China have increased tremendously in all fields, and we take pride in making our contributions in a small but fruitful way. Back in 1993, fourteen years after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two great countries, not too many people in China would have the opportunities to visit the United States yet. Those who came, mostly overwhelmed by what they saw, heard, and experienced, would share a lot of stories with their family members, colleagues and friends back in China. From the very beginning, Triway, with dedicated team members of bilingual and cross culture background, has been endeavoring to make the trips of our visitors fruitful and memorable.
The initiations of the U.S.-China Strategic & Economic Dialogue and the subsequent Consultation on People-to-People Exchange, as we see them, have brought about a mechanism that more and more people of the two countries at large are participating and benefiting from. The people-to-people exchanges are of great significance, and one of the study trips that we hosted last year would demonstrate it in a tiny way. Last year, 19 Chinese officials from the maritime safety authorities of the central and regional agencies came to study maritime accident investigation theories and practices. Though a short trip of two weeks as it was, it undoubtedly would help save many lives, as the delegates commented with great appreciation to their American counterparts. There are many other examples, like in the fields of healthcare, environmental protection, public administration, etc.
We are grateful to all the support and help from our American friends from all walks of life, and so are all the visitors. We pride ourselves in building the bridges, and we look forward to working with old friends and making new friends in the years to come.
